...and his Photo and Graphic Impressionism Art
A.J. Montrose has been producing unique images since the early 70's. Creator of two art styles, Graphic Impressionism and Photo Impressionism, Montrose has shown and sold his work in Houston, where he was born, Austin, where he's lived since 1980, Del Rio, Denver, Atlanta, Santa Barbara, San Francisco, South Dakota, South Africa and several Mexican resorts.
He has worked in oils, acrylics, stained glass, watercolor, computer, leather, camera and words. All Montrose pieces, whether photo or graphic, begin with original photos or original hand or mouse-drawn sketches, which he then computer-finishes. Until now, his work has only been available as very limited prints, but due to commercial demand, it is now being offered in select venues and through this web site. Both of Montrose's styles rely on the simple triad of composition, concept and color. The Photo Impressionism was a natural extension of his graphic art that took on a life of its own and resulted in extensive sales last year.
Over time, the line between his Graphic and Photo Impressionism styles has blended into new art forms that are still evolving and remain, as yet, unlabeled. This catalog represents a small percentage of A.J. Montrose's work. New catalogs are in production now and will be available soon. Until then.... FAWTEL.... Find A Way To Enjoy Life.
